SWI - Student World Impact BEGINS SEPT 8

Student World Impact is every Wednesday nights at 5:45 - 7 pm, in the Mod A & B. What is SWI? Is is a student program for grades 1-5 that teaches our students how to live a missional lifestyle. Each week in SWI students learn and experience through games, guest speakers, lessons, crafts and missional service projects about world religions, countries and cultures around the world. This year SWI for some weeks will target an Unreached People Group, groups of people who still need to hear the Good News of the Gospel.

We are looking forward to a great time in SWI!

MISSIONS IN PUERTO VALLARTA MEXICO

This summer Second Baptist missions interns and volunteer teams joined efforts with La Esperanza in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with targeted ministry in a large local neighborhood. First three weeks, seven interns blitzed the neighborhood with evangelism with kids camps/VBS and door -to-door contact. Then to following up, SBC mission volunteer teams came and hosted two weeks of sports camps. The first week, 60 kids came for baseball camp and the second week, 40 kids came for basketball camp. The final night of each week there was a BBQ for the kids and their parents, where Preston shared a gospel presentation and an informational flier of the church, La Esperanza de Vallarta was given to each person.

During these weeks, several people expressed an interest in learning more about the church. The neighborhood’s community seems to show a definite attitude of thankfulness for all the efforts of Second Baptist and La Esperanza de Vallarta.
